As part of its 40th Anniversary celebrations, the Bhutan Foundation is marking the milestone with initiatives that reflect its enduring commitment to empowering communities, protecting biodiversity and preserving Bhutan’s unique heritage.
On 20 October 2026, Her Majesty the Queen Mother Gyalyum Tseyring Pem Wangchuck graced the launch of a yak dairy development project and the inauguration of the Dagala Craft Innovation and Development Centre, in partnership with Thimphu Dzongkhag Administration and other stakeholders. These initiatives aim to strengthen highland livelihoods through improved yak dairy processing, innovative crafts and sustainable rangeland management.

Continuing the anniversary celebrations, the Foundation will host a special screening of Snow Leopard Sisters on 21 October 2026, highlighting the importance of snow leopard conservation and the communities that share their fragile mountain habitat.
Together, these initiatives reflect the Foundation’s belief that conservation and community well-being must go hand in hand.
As we celebrate four decades of partnerships, we reaffirm our commitment to working alongside Bhutanese communities and partners to build a sustainable and resilient future.
