Celebrating 40 Years of Partnership, Impact and Shared Commitment to Bhutan

The Bhutan Foundation marked its 40th Anniversary on 19 October 2026 with a special commemorative dinner, celebrating four decades of enduring partnerships, meaningful achievements and commitment to Bhutan’s sustainable development.

The celebration was graced by Her Majesty the Queen Mother Gyalyum Tseyring Pem Wangchuck, Royal Patron of the Foundation, alongside the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bhutan, members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors and Advisory Council, development partners, government representatives and distinguished guests.

Highlights of the evening included the premiere of the Bhutan Foundation’s 40th Anniversary documentary, capturing four decades of partnerships and impact, and the launch of The Bhutan We Share, a commemorative book featuring inspiring stories of change from communities across Bhutan.

A special tribute honored Her Majesty Gyalyum Tseyring Pem Wangchuck for Her Majesty’s visionary leadership, unwavering guidance and enduring commitment to advancing the Foundation’s mission.

From its beginnings in 1986 to the partnerships shaping its future, the Foundation’s journey is a testament to the power of collective action and shared aspirations.

Forty years is more than a milestone. It is a celebration of the people, partnerships and shared vision that continue to make a lasting difference in Bhutan.

Our deepest gratitude to Her Majesty, our founders, donors, partners, communities and well-wishers for being part of this remarkable journey.
