Thirteen Counselors from four partner orgnanizations trained
Congratulations to all thirteen participating counselors for completing their training last week! Their hard work has finally paid off with certifications in “Universal Treatment Curriculum for Addiction Professionals.” The participants in this training were local counselors from our partners at organizations like the Bhutan Institute of Well-being, Chithuen Phendhey Association, Bhutan Narcotics Control Authority, and Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital. The training included eight modules, such as Physiology and Pharmacology for Addiction Professionals and Treatment for Substance Use Disorders.
The content and methodology of the training series were designed to ensure that addiction practitioners develop a balanced perspective of the principles relating to both the science and art of treatment. Each course is intended to enhance the knowledge, skills, and competencies of treatment professionals, and promote evidence-based practices for the enhancement of service delivery and treatment outcomes.
The training was facilitated by Sonam Jamtsho, who is the only certified trainer recognized by Colombo Plan and Bhutan Narcotic Control Authority.
We wish all the counselors the best in their future endeavors!
