We’d like to introduce one of our newest partners! This parent support group, primarily consisting of parents and family members of children with special needs, has partnered with us on our first activity: a five-day workshop titled “Preparing Inclusive Learning Communities in Primary School.”

This workshop trained over 30 participants, mainly primary teachers, support teachers, and day care facilitators, from targeted schools and ECCD centers, who will be working with children with special needs. The topics covered included: Understanding Impairment and Disability, Principals of Curriculum Adaptation (sessions), Basic Strategies to Support Children with Areas of Learning, Social and Emotional Development, and Finding Balance Between Teachers, Support Teachers, Parents, Peer Groups, and Children.
