Since its inception in 2017, the BEAR team has treated more than 200 people while compiling 17,000+ flight hours.
A special congratulations to the BEAR-Bhutan Emergency Aeromedical Retrieval team for being featured in the Air Medical Journal! The article covers the BEAR Team’s first year in operation as the first Emergency Air Medical Retrieval Service in Bhutan.
A few highlights from the article include:
- The Bhutan Emergency Aeromedical Retrieval Team catered to all 20 districts of Bhutan in its first year of operations.
- Sepsis, AMS and Trauma were the top 3 conditions requiring air evacuation.
- Blood products were safely transfused in trauma patients leading to good outcomes.
